Reunion Island Coffee, an Oakville specialty roaster, has converted from traditional paper cups to compostable paper cups. The locally manufactured cups are made from a combination of paper and compostable PLA (polylactic acid) that replaces the traditional plastic coating on the inside of paper coffee cups. “We are committed to being among the greenest coffee companies in North America and have been waiting a number of years for compostable paper cups to become a viable solution for us,” explains company president Peter Pesce. “Our customers voiced their tremendous support for this conversion and we appreciate their cooperation in helping to divert millions of cups from landfill sites each year.” reunionislandcoffee.com
