Congratulations to Ravine Estate Winery on their gold medal win at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) in May. The 2013 Ravine Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, which took home the gold, is inspired by harvests winemaker Martin Werner worked on in New Zealand, and is barrel fermented in 90 per cent neutral oak and 10 per cent new French oak for an Ontario interpretation of this cool climate style complete with texture and minerality. The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world's most comprehensive and authoritative wine competition with 15,000 entries per year and is led by the best and most influential wine professionals in the world. Along with the gold medal, the 2013 Ravine Vineyard Chardonnay and the 2012 Carbernet Franc both won silver medals.
