Burlington is more vegan-friendly than ever thanks to the recent opening of Boon Burger Café in the downtown area. With a relaxed environment, the restaurant offers several different options of patties made of entirely plant-based ingredients cooked without the use of microwaves or deep fryers. Initially opened in Winnipeg in 2010, the 100 per cent cruelty-free restaurant has garnered quite the following in the vegan and vegetarian community by offering a large variety of burger toppings alongside veggie dogs, salads, poutine and chilli cheeze fries. Going in line with its health conscious and earth-friendly approach to food, Boon Burger Café recycles all compost and even packs take-out orders in recyclable containers. Not in the mood for a whole meal? Stop in for the delicious vegan soft served made from a mix of coconut milk and cane sugar.
