Springridge Farm's most popular pies are the Signature Apple Pie and Classic Cherry Pie. These top-secret recipes originated in Grandma Hughes' kitchen and they have been using them in the bakery for more than 25 years.
Springridge Farm Signature Apple Pie
Pastry for 2 crust pie
(Tenderflake recipe is our favourite!)
¾ – 1 cup sugar
3 tbsp flour
1/8 tsp nutmeg
6 – 7 cups sliced, peeled Ontario apples (2-2 ½ lbs)
2 tbsp butter
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix apples lightly through. Heap pastry-lined 9-inch pie pan. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust and flute edges, cut vents. Bake at 375°F for 50-60 minutes until crust is brown and apples are tender. Enjoy!
