The first opening in the new Faena District Miami Beach, a neighbourhood focused on art and culture, will debut this November with the opening of Faena Hotel Miami Beach. The District itself will stretch north between the Atlantic Ocean and Indian Creek from 32nd Street to 36th Street opening in phases over the next three years to include cultural, residential, hotel, retail, restaurant and public environments with a focus on expressions of art, design, nature, technology and service. Faena Hotel Miami Beach, formerly the historic Saxony Hotel, will include 169 rooms and suites alongside 13 penthouse residences designed by award-winning film director/producer Baz Luhrmann and four-time Academy Award winning production and costume designer Catherine Martin in collaboration with Alan Faena. Also included in the Faena District Miami Beach will be the Faena Forum, Faena House and the Faena Versailles Classic and Faena Versailles Contemporary residences.
