This year, Pantone has broken the rules and selected not one, but two, colours of the year. The complementary pale blue and pink shades of PANTONE 15-3919 “Serenity” and PANTONE 13-1520 “Rose Quartz” are symbolic of a global cultural shift that relate to movements toward gender equality and fluidity as seen in the fashion and design worlds. According to Pantone, “These colours do not stand for one sex or the other, but instead convey a sense of compatibility, comfort, calmness, understanding, balance, inner peace and wellness.”
