In September cereal brand Shreddies launched the “Search for Goodness” campaign calling for nominations of Canadians who go above and beyond in their communities. From there, five finalists were selected and the public was asked to vote for the story they believed should be shared across the country. The selected story is that of Oakville's very own Julia and Emma Mogus, teenage sisters who have made it their mission to collect and distribute books to remote “fly-in” communities in Northern Ontario, like Deer Lake, through their charity Books With No Bounds. To date, the charity has collected and distributed more than 27,000 books helping to encourage literacy in communities where access to new reading materials remains limited. Congratulations to these two inspiring girls whose actions encourage those around them to reach out and help improve the lives of others. Currently, Julia and Emma can be seen in Shreddies' national TV spot that can be found online at facebook.com/Shreddies.
